a few questions...
can you disable that far camera when you want?
are the scales of the images generating any kind of problems?
is it more difficult to code on the 1.1 version?
thanks for share the video!
At the moment you disable camera zooming in stages only. I am hoping for some additional control in characters(as are many others).
The stage settings:
zoomout = 0.5
zoomin = 1
Control it for now though, if I set
zoomout to 1.0 zooming would be turned off.
Image scaling can be annoying at first if you have full screen super BGs, but Mugen 1.1 gives the options for Explods to be drawn on screen space, which will basically tell it to not be affected by zoom. I haven't used many full screen sprites so I never had much of an issue.
Stages though can have problems if you enable the zoom on it. I had to edit the foreground on all my stages to be slightly taller, so the bottom wouldn't appear cut off during zoom out. It will be one of those things where stage makes may have to fix it one stage at a time if they want to use Camera Zoom.
The coding so far isn't any harder, projectile helpers that have "DestroySelf" with a "time = 30" or something might look like they die before reaching the edge of the stage when its zoomed out. So its better to use something like "frontedgebodydist < -25" instead of "time" for those.
Also there is a new way of binding Explods. Instead of setting postype = p1 or postype = p2, you set it to screenspace(disables zoom on the explod), or to a target playerID. Since I've been coding mostly the old way I haven't tried this too much yet, but it seems simple enough. (The WinMugen way of coding explods still works too, it just might not in Mugen 2.0 some day xD)
There are other new additions too, Explods have an "Angle" parameter. AIR can rotate, scale, offset, and blend over time without having to create a 100 line animation(can now be done in 3-4 lines in the AIR). Also Alpha 3 seems to be adding LUA scripting to MUGEN, which I know very little about(apparently it isn't working 100% yet). LUA is a different language of coding, but you don't need to touch it at all to create for mugen anyway. xD
As for release date I still don't know. I guess Mugen 1.0 is officially released now and no longer an RC. I'm guessing they can now focus their resources on Mugen 1.1 a bit more.
I am hoping for a Mugen 1.1 RC or Mugen 1.1 Beta to be publicly available within a few months, but I honestly am just guessing/wishful thinking. It is working really well already, just a few bug fixes with pallettes, and some other things need to be fixed.
